The Philadelphia Police Foundation (the Foundation) is an independent non-profit organization which engages business, professional and civic communities in advancing the mission of the Philadelphia Police Department (the Department).

The Foundation supports collaboration, in-kind resources and training, and funding for the PPD, above and beyond the scope of the city budget. Your assistance in these key initiatives greatly accelerates the Department’s ability to make progress quickly, and to provide better quality service to all Philadelphians. The Foundation also accepts non-earmarked financial support for general use and short-term assistance for the Department.

Currently the Foundation is supporting the following projects:

  • Bicycles and related equipment for the Bike Unit
  • Segways for Center City patrols
  • Kevlar bullet proof vests 
  • Post-Police Academy supervisory training
  • Holocaust Museum and Anti-Defamation League training
  • Funding for Police Forensic Science Bureau improvements
  • Assistance for the Canine Unit
  • The Rand Center for Quality Policing
  • Police Explorer’s program
